The airline was established in December 2002 with its main base in Guadeloupe. Initially the airline was owned by Air Guyane Express. Air Antilles Express operated scheduled regional flights services between the islands of the French West Indies and Saint Lucia to Fort-de-France, Pointe-à-Pitre and Saint-Martin-Grand Case. The Antilles also used to provide seasonal flights to San Juan, La Romana, Antigua, St. Lucia, Barbados.
