Being regional airline of Japan, Air Nippon had its base in Tokyo, Japan. The main motive of Air Nippon airline was to provide air flight services to short routes in isolated islands. It was subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA). It catered domestic flights services to ANA.
In 2004, Air Nippon started working on ANA flight codes. It also adopted all domestic services of ANA. It was founded in 1974 by ANA, Japan Airlines. The name Air Nippon was given in 1987. In 2004, it was considered as prominent Star Alliance member. The employee strength of Air Nippon was more than 1686 staff.
Air Nippon discontinued all flight services and merged with ANA in April 2012.
