It was a low cost airline of Sweden with its base in Stockholm, Sweden. FlyNordic used to operate scheduled passenger services to domestic and international destinations of Scandinavia and Europe. The airline also provided private charter flight services. Norwegian Air Shuttle purchased FlyNordic in 2007.
FlyNordic was founded in 1996 as Reguljair. Initially it started its operations with an Embraer EMB 110 Bandeirante. In 2000, the name was changed to Nordic East. Finnair acquired it in 2004 and again the name was changed to FlyNordic.
In 2007, Norwegian Air Shuttle claimed to have 100% shares of FlyNordic. This way Norwegian Air Shuttle has now become one of the largest low-cost airlines.
FlyNordic ceased to operate all its flight operations on 14 March 2008 and rebranded as Norwegian.
