Pan Am was the international airline of United State based in Florida. The airline was founded by the World War I pilot Juan Trippe in 1927. It used the IATA airline designator PN and the ICAO code PAA Boston-Maine airways. Pan American Airlines covered the destinations in Europe, U.S. and the Caribbean regions. The airline used to include the widespread range of jet aircraft, jumbo jets.

Pan Am was shut down in December, 1991 due to bankruptcy.

Pan Am Profile

    The airline started operation from 1996 to 1998, in between the U.S. and the Caribbean. The airline seaplane called Bevier followed its service from Key West, Florida to Havana. A fleet of six large Boeing 314 flying boats was delivered to Pan Am in early 1939. In 1940, airlines along with TWA began using the Boeing 307 for passenger services.

    Pan American World Airways introduced jet service from New York to Paris in October 1958. The airline services to West Germany and West Berlin started with the DC-6B and Boeing 727 in 1966. In January 1970, Pan Am offered Boeing 747 at Washing to Dulles International Airport in the presence of Pan Am chairman Najeeb Halaby.
