The airline started operations with its first commercial scheduled flights to Rome and Paris in July 1949. The acquisition of the airline was fully owned by Israeli government and the Jewish organizations.
In 1949, the first plane was arrived at the Lod airport. The service of the aircraft to London and Johannesburg was started in end of the year 1949.
