It was national airline of Armenia that was based in Yerevan, Armenia. The airline was established in 1996. It used to operate both international as well as regional flights from Yerevan to destinations in Europe and the Middle East. Its main base was Zvartnots International Airport, Yerevan.
The airline ceased all its flight operations in April, 2013 due to bankruptcy.

It is the largest airlines in Armenia. The airline starts its commercial flights to Russia and Turkey in 2001. In 2002, the Armavia Company was setup to the strategic alliance with ‘Sibir’ Airlines S7 airlines of Russia. The new aircraft ‘Airbus A 320’ was launched in 2002.

In 2003, Armavia was a part of the bankrupt Armenian Airlines flights. In 2005, the airline transported the total of 513,800 passengers and its turnover for 2005 was amounted about $90 million. The airlines operated with Tel Aviv, Minsk, & Tbilisi in 2006.
