The Airlines started its operations in 1978 as a domestic airline. It adopted its present title in 1978. Its first international route started in 1983, which covered Frankfurt and London. In 1989 Air Seychelles launched the Boeing 767-200 ER. The airline is wholly owned by the Seychelles government in 1978. In 1993, the airline started to cater its flights to serve the destinations like Madrid, Nairobi, Johannesburg, Dubai, Mumbai and Singapore. Its total employs is 663.
