The airline was started operations in August 1964. It is mainly based in the largest city of the country, Abidjan. Air Ivoire suspended operations in September 1999 due to financial difficulties.
After being acquired by AAA, by Air France and AIG, the company changed its name to ‘Nouvelle Air Ivoire’ and restarted its operations in 2001. Then it is reverted to its original title.
