Edinburgh in Scotland experiences temperate and maritime climate. Temperatures in summers are moderate and the day temperature never goes beyond 22 �C. There is no large variation in the climate of the city. This is due to the proximity of the sea to the city. High speed winds associated with warm and unstable air from Gulf Stream prevail in the city causing rainfall. Rainfall is considerably less but is evenly distributed throughout the year. Most of the rainfall occurs in the months of December, January and February.
